Books Coming Soon Week of April 17th

I always love to know what books are coming so that I can get ready for them or even pre-order them. Like I have said before, many pre-ordered books arrive earlier than the ones in store.

Rachael Ray Express Lane Meals: What to Keep on Hand, What to Buy Fresh for the Easiest-Ever 30-Minute Meals

Rachael Ray is back and speedier than ever! With her latest batch of recipes, the Food Network phenomenon takes her beloved 30-Minute-Meal concept to the next level, providing recipes based on items from a well-stocked pantry and just a few fresh items — so few you’ll never be stuck on a long grocery line again. After all, the time Rachael saves her readers in the kitchen shouldn’t be spent in the grocery store hunting down hard-to-find ingredients for their next meal. The idea is that every cook should have certain items in the fridge, freezer, and pantry shelf at all times: jarred roasted peppers, boxes of low-sodium chicken broth, frozen artichoke hearts and Italian sausage links, and, of course, pasta of every shape and size (not to mention at least one good bottle of EVOO). With the pantry set up to go and replenished on a bi-weekly or even monthly basis, getting a dinner together means a quick trip through the express lane and you’re good to go in minutes.

Express Lane Meals proves that the right combination of even the simplest ingredients can result in a meal that will delight. Never short on creativity, Rachael’s newest recipes cover the entire spectrum, including everything from light meals to dinners fit for entertaining.

As always, Rachael’s signature style jumps off of the pages, resulting in meals that are just as much fun to make as they are to eat. Thirty minutes and a quick trip through the express lane have never been this delicious!

  • The Debutante Divorcee
  • Plum Sykes
“Married girls in New York these days put almost as much effort into losing husbands as they once did into finding them.”

In 2004, Plum Sykes jet-setted to bestsellerdom with Bergdorf Blondes, a playful debut novel that introduced readers to the glamorous world of PAPs (Park Avenue Princesses). Now the fabulous girls from the world of Bergdorf Blondes are back.

Lauren Blount’s life is beautifully arranged: she’s very rich, very young, very thin, very pretty — and very, very divorced. She is the most reckless and glamorous of Manhattan’s Debutante Divorcée set. Lauren captivates Sylvia Mortimer, the group’s token newlywed. But while Lauren sets out on a morality-lite, orgasm-heavy “Make Out Challenge,” Sylvia discovers her marriage isn’t exactly an Eternity ad — especially when the city’s most notorious Husband Huntress zeros in on her spouse.

Navigating a world of Divorce Showers and Power Christenings, Socialite Babies, Professional Friends, Gorgeous West Village Wives, and Un-Googleable Men, Sylvia fears her husband is straying and starts asking, as Lauren says, “Who needs a husband anyway?” With her delightful mix of charm, cheek, and satire, Sykes has written a second novel that promises to be every bit as beloved as her smash debut.

Plum Sykes was born in London and educated at Oxford. She is a contributing editor at Vogue, where she writes on fashion, society, and Hollywood. She has also written for Vanity Fair. Her first novel, Bergdorf Blondes, was a runaway national bestseller and has been translated into fifteen languages. She lives in London and New York City.
