The novel Runner by author Peter McPhee was removed from school shelves following the murder of a family by the 12 year old daughter. In the book their is a goth girl and this strikes the city too close to home since the child who killed her family seems to have fallen in with a goth crowd.
The author doesn’t like that they pulled his book but he understands why they have to do it, while at the same time trying to get people to understand that just because some lives the goth lifestyle doesn’t mean they are a murderer.
