Oh! I just so love all of them. How many times do we hear guys complaining about their girlfriends’ obsession with shopping? Being a girl myself, I love to wander in the mall just to window-shop and, yes, I must admit, to shop a little. I instantly got hooked on these series of books and found myself laughing alone when I am reading it because every woman who has an obsession for shopping can relate to her wacky shopping adventures. Call me weird, but I believe every lady would agree that they could see themselves in the image of Becky Bloomwood.
Becky Bloomwood, the series’ main protagonist, takes you to a never-ending ride of shopping trips and funny escapades that her spendthrift ways bring about. She is a woman who loves to shop. Not just shop. Should I say, shop-till-she-drops. She is a financial journalist who finds herself constantly struggling to find the balance between her limited income and her unlimited desire for shopping. Arrgh! The irony in life. Stressed out over the ever-growing bills. She relaxes and turns to shopping for relief. This cycle continues and lives her with more debt to pay. Despite her immature behavior when it comes to shopping fever, in the end Rebecca realizes that there are more important things than shopping (but still, never thought of giving up the habit, though.)
The Shopaholic series is something I always recommend to my friends because it is a light read, yet it does not go overboard in its superficiality.
