Disappearing acts

Disappearing acts is a book that was written by Terry McMillan in the late 1980′s. It was the very first fiction book I read as an adult (I didn’t read much outside of my college school books while I was in college….too much reading).
I thought it was a very good book. I say that because I could hardly put it down until I was finished.
Disappearing acts was about this successful single woman who met this man that didn’t have much going for himself. They got into a relationship and he disappeared everytime something went wrong for him or if they got into some type of argument about one thing or another.
The lady would go on these wild hunt chases looking for him, bring him back and they would work it out until the next episode. Finally, she was tired of going after him and resolved to the fact that it was over. It’s been a while since I’ve read the book, but if my memory serves me correctly, he got himself together and they ended up having a long and satisfying relationship to sum it up.
This book was Terry McMillan’s second book she had written.
