For an easy and fun read pick up a book by Janet Evanovich. She has written many books but the Stephanie Plum series and the Alex Barnaby series make for some great entertainment.
The Stephanie Plum series is about, who else? Stephanie Plum. Stephanie is a second rate bounty hunter who spend more time getting into trouble, eating junk food, and fighting off (or not fighting off!) advances from the two men in her life, than she does catching criminals. The humor of Evanovich is best shown through the sarcastic humor of the Stephanie Plum series. These aren’t romance novels, nor are they detective novels per se. What they are is a good time.
I have only read one book out of the Alex Barnaby series and have not quite figured out how well I like it. I know I do like it, I’m just not sure if I like Alex as much as Stephanie. Or maybe its just that I have been around Stephanie for several years and it is difficult to wrap your head around a new lead character and love interest. Alex Barnaby works for a race car driver. The race car driver is Alex’s love interest and he goes along with her on their detective stories. Still the same sarcastic humor which is why I will definately be getting more of these books!
