Always check your work as much as possible. All authors know that it is expensive to get things edited on your own. Using you spell and grammer check on the word processor is a good resource to use. Then reread as much as possible. Then print up your work and go over it with a red pen.
If you know someone that will give you their honest opinion, then let them use a red pen on their own copy. Don’t get mad when people find things wrong, because that is what you want to happen. You want to see as much red ink as the manuscript requires.
