With the winter weather here, I like taking the time to read the book “Katie Caught a Cold” by Charlotte Cowan, M.D. The book is illustrated by Katy Bratun and is a Dr. Hippo story.
Katie catches a cold before the big ice show. Will she be cold free before it starts so she can perform. Her mom consults with her doctor, Dr. Hippo, who tells her that Katie needs lots of fluids and rest. If she gets a fever she is to call him. Katie stays home and mom gives her the fluids and she rests up so she can be all she can be before the show. Katie does get better by doing this.
This book also contains a parent guide in the beginning. I like that because you can learn helpful hints if your child gets sick.
I like the illustrations in this book. The bears look so cute and cuddly that it makes you want to read the story over and over again.
