“Opposites” is by Nina Filipek and is about none other than opposites. It is illustrated by Jan Smith.
The illustrations in this book are very bright and colorful. The children are fun to look at as well, which is important when trying to teach young children.
The book says one opposite, then asks a question to what the other opposite is. For example the first one is “When Jack want to play inside, where does Jessie want to play?”
Other opposites include Little/big, bottom/top, cold/hot, up/down, empty/full, long/short, clean/dirty, and wet/dry.
The book is a book-studio book and makes learning fun for the preschoolers. The interaction between the reader and the child is great as well because the child has to think instead of being told the answer. Great for minds that have trouble focusing on a story book.
