“Don’t Overdo it Little Colt is a Little Animal Adventure book and is by Saarah Price. It is illustrated by Virginijus Poshkus.
Little Colt is hungry and wants some sugar cubes. Mother Colt says no and reminds him that treats are fine once in a while but not this close to supper. Little Colt decides to go with Rex and then finds a box of sugar cubes that were left out. He eats them all, and then gets a tummy ache. Mother Colt tells him that if he still has a tummy ache tomorrow he will not be able to go to the fair. In the morning he is feeling better, and goes for a run with Rex before they leave for the fair. He sees another box of sugar cubes and wants to eat it, but Rex cautions him about what mother said. Instead Little Colt chooses a few apples and does not get a tummy ache.
This is a very cute book about teaching children healthy eating habits. In the back of the book there are horse facts.
