Counting in CandyLand is a great book to teach children how to count to 10, as well as mumber recognition. The book has a very attractive cover and is hard covered. The numbers in the book look like candy canes as well, appealing to children. The characters are the same characters that are in the board game: Lord Licorice, King Kandy, Gloppy, Joppy, Frostine, Mr. Mint, Jib and his friend the gingerbread man, Lolly and Gramma Nut. Each character looks just like the character from the classic board game. Children really enjoy looking at the book and then remembering stories about once when they played the game. It makes for a great conversation starter.
