If you have a preschooler who likes Clifford, you will love “The Littel Flwer Seed” by Sarah Fisch and illustrated by Bob Roper. It is a schlolastic book as well as a Little Red reader book.
It is spring time and Clifford is helping Emily Elizabeth and Mrs. Howard plant a garden. Clifford watches as they dig holes in the ground and then they leave to get the watering can. Clifford decides to help by digging too and Emily Elizabeth has to explain to him how the seeds need to be covered to grow. Daffodil tells Clifford they need water to grow as well. Soon the garden is sprouting and the flowers and veggies are taking off. Clifford shares by giving Daffodil some carrots and Mr. Howard tells Emily Elizabeth she did a good job on the garden.
This is a good book for young children about growing. It states how the flowers grow just as the children do.
