Five Little Monkeys wash the Car is by Eileen Christelow. The 5 monkeys and their mama want to sell their old car, but no one will buy a rickety, sticky, icky car. So the monkeys wash it till it glows, spray it with perfume to make it smell better, and paint it with designs. They rolll the car the the swamp so others can see it better, but it rolls in the swamp. the crocodiles help them get it out of the swamp and push it back to their home. Only now the crocs are so tired so they write out a check for the car to drive back to the swamp. The Monkeys then buy a new fancy convertible with the money from the car.
The monkeys in this story are so cute. Each one is so different from eachother that all my preschoolers have to tell me everytime we read it which one is their favorite. Very cute and clever plot to the story.
