Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez’s sequel

I first read one of her books, called The Dirty Girls Social Club, a book about a group of former college buddies who call themselves the sucias. They are all Latina women who are VERY different from one another. The book really inticed me as a Latina. I could really relate to so many of the things the author made the characters’ lives out to be. I loved it and was utterly sad to have it end.
Luckily for me, she came out with the sequel: Dirty Girls on Top. I purchased it as an ebook for my new Kindle for around $16. I wanted to read it on the plane from NM to NY and I’m really glad I did. I got to indulge myself back into the lives of these Latina women. What I really appreciate, more than anything, is the way each lady is so diverse from the next. How great is that? Finally, we aren’t lumped all together as acting, talking, or living the same. I loved it.
For anyone interested in Latino culture, this is the book for you. I fell in love with every lady’s personal story. I just really really hope she comes out with a trilogy!
