The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher

The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher is one of my all time favorite books. I must have read it at least 20 times. The characters are like old friends that welcome me back every time I pick it up to read a chapter here and there or to read it all over from beginning to end.

The Shell Seekers
follows a family over generations from the shore to the city and back again. It is about connections and sacrifice and true happiness. Mothers and daughters, husbands and lovers all interact to display entangled lives that you will never forget. You won’t be able to put this book down because you need to know why she did this or why he did that or if they are really going to do this or that. A book like this comes along rarely and if you connect with the characters in the first page like I did you will love this book forever.

I agree with every word of your review. The Shell Seekers is a magical book and remains one of my favourites. However, if I’m honest, it’s just pushed into second place by Coming Home which was an even more extraordinary book
