H.P. and The Half -Blood Prince

After the red carpet premier of the much awaited movie of the year, Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince is due to its world premier a little over a week from now. I don’t want to ruin your day if you have no idea yet as to what will happen on this episode of  J.K. Rowling seven books masterpiece.

The 6th Harry Potter book  is quite a long reading, consisting of 30 chapters, from the introduction of the new Minister of Magic, the recruitment of Horace Slughorn, the appointment of Draco Malfoy, the book of the Half-Blood Prince among others to the climactic chapters of  the Horcruxes, the death of a lead character and the escape of the perpetrators.

This particular book is the most important part of the story of Harry Potter as a lot things will transpire here. Secrets will finally be revealed, the hopelessness of the problem and the impossibility of the solution.

After the 4th book H.P. and the Goblets of Fire’s relaxed, funny and light theme reading to the Order of the Phoenix’s dark, sinister, foreboding subject of murder, betrayal and redemption which continued to the 6th and finally the 7th and last book, The Deathly Hallows.  The transition from lighter side to the darker theme is inevitable and will continue to built its momentum till the end.

The Half Blood Prince was disappointing. Too much time was spent on the relationships between Harry/Ginny and Hermione/Ron. I was looking forward to the action sequences near the end of the book. They were omitted. The confrontation between Harry and Snape is also omitted. If you want to see this movie, go at the cheapest time of day.

The movies are good. I hear the books are good too.
