The Icon

Federick Forstyh’s mastwerpiece novel “Icon” is an historical fiction centering around the Russian Federation in 1999. The story in set in 1999.

Igor Komarov, head of the right-wing Union of Patriotic Forces (UPF) was almost certain to win the elections when a janitor working in his office happends to stumble upon a document containing extremely sensitive information regarding Komarov’s future policies as president. The policies include restoration of slave camps, creation of a one-party state, destruction of political opponents, invasion of the neighbouring republics and genocide of Russia’s ethnic and religious minorities. This “Black Manifesto” finds its way to Great Britain, who deputed Jason Monk, a former recruiter and runner of Soviet agents for the CIA to thwart Komarov’s victory. Monk rounds up a ring of influential figures and takes the help of the Chechen mafia to derail Igor Komarov’s presidential campaign. The novel ends

Finally, monarchy is restored in Russai, with Prince Micahel of Kent becoming the Tsar and Russain gaining a new icon with which they can live in peace and prosperity.
