First Things First

“First Things First” is a famous self-help book written by Stephen Covey, A. Roger and Rebecca R. Merrill in 1994, intended as a sequel to Covey’s bestseller “The Seven Habits of Highly Successful People.” The book offers a time management approach to help people align to “First Things” or important things that matter, and thereby attain efficiency in their lives.
The book reveals three generations of time management. The first generation is the simple task list, where the tasks are listed out without prioritizing them. The second generation of time management entails personal organizers that attempst to prioritize things based on urgency. The third generation of time management incorporates the “Franklin Planner” to identify primary roles and principles to decide activities that are most important so that decisions are influence mor by the “compass”: or the directon rather than the “clock” or scheduling
The book also dwells upon the important of delegation as an indispensable part of effective time management
