The Famous Five

The Famous Five is the fictional group of young children – Goerge, Julian, Dick, Anne and their dog, Timothy who feature in a series of children novels written by the famous British author Enid Blyton. The first book, Five on a Treasure Island, was published in 1942 and since then 20 other Famous Five adventures have been published. The books received instant success and has gone on to become one odf the most popular children’s books ever. More than two million copies of Faous Five adventures are sold every year even today and most of the novels have been adapted for television.

The plot for all the novels centers around the three siblings, Julian, Dick and Anne visiting their Aunt Fanny and Uncle Quentin in the seaside town of Kirrin during their vacations. There they team with up Uncle Quentin’s daughter Georgina and dog Timothy and set out on some adventure. The character of Georgina or George is based on Enid Blyton herself.

The most popular Famous Five books include “Five on a Treasure Hunt”, “Five Run Away Together”, “Five go to smugglers Top”, “FIve on Kirrin island again”, “Five get into trouble,” “Five go off in a caravan” and other adventures. Famous Five comes up victorious in all their adventures.
