Differences between Movies and Books

If a book is any good, it will be made into a movie at some point. Hollywood is running out of ideas fast and is either making books into movies as they usually do, or making movies that dumb down their audience in more ways than one. These movies that are based on books are really hard to do exactly by the book because the book is made to be read while the movie is made to be watched. These are two different mediums and not everything in a book can be conveyed in a movie. The experience is just not the same. For example, if an author spends multiple pages describing a landscape, the best the movie creators can do is to lay that landscape out on the screen, unfortunately, that landscape is not going to be able to be exactly like the writer intended, it just can’t be! Another example is that characters will be slightly different than they were in the books because actors will put their own spin on a character rather than allow that character to be exactly as it would be if it was directly from the author’s mind. All in all, books and movies are just two separate mediums.
