Is the Bible meant to be taken as the literal word of God? Well that depends on who you ask. Christians certainly believe that everything in the Holy book is the gospel. They call it faith to believe that this is so. Theologians differ but only slightly. Then there are archeologists who claim proof that at least some of the stories in the Bible are historical fact. But what if there is another answer, or at least another theory? What if the Bible is a based on a true story book or possibly even a novel. The best selling novel of all time. I know a lot of people might be upset to even ponder that possibility? But isn’t it plausible? Who is to say that we are the first to come up with novels and stories. Certainly the human race has been finding ways to entertain itself since the dawn of time. This is not to say that God or a Creator does not exist. This is simply saying that man kind knew of his presence and decided to tell a story about him, the greatest story that we have ever heard. After all, with movies like Bruce Almighty, aren’t we still telling stories about him today? Just something to think about.
